Vision, Mission and Goals
Food for Life...
to Preserve and Protect
Certified Organic Food and Fibre Production...
To initiate and co-ordinate a class action lawsuit seeking compensation for the loss of certified organic canola as a crop, from those responsible for the release of genetically engineered canola into the environment.
To halt the release of genetically engineered (GE) wheat into the environment, by means of a court injunction, or other legal instruments satisfactory to the long term interests of certified organic farmers and consumers of organic food.
To raise money to pay for this legal action, as well as for the expenses of administration, lobbying and fund raising.
To actively build a broad alliance of individuals and organizations that support our legal initiative, our goals and our agenda.
To engage people willing to help; to facilitate and co-ordinate their efforts, and to set up a liaison between them and the OAPF Committee to ensure their talents are best put to use, and that the integrity of our goals and mission is respected.
To proceed with the knowledge that this high profile legal action has the potential to raise general public awareness on issues beyond this class action, crucial to the well being of organic farmers, the public, and the environment.
Join the fight...
To continue to lobby all levels of government against introduction of genetically engineered (GE) wheat, other genetically engineered crops, or any genetically engineered substance prohibited by certified organic standards.
